“South London’s Izzy Bizu has become our pop-soul dream girl overnight.” Wonderland Magazine

21 years old, Izzy Bizu is a pop force to be reckoned with. Not quite at Bieber levels of adolescent fame yet, she’s well on the way. Staccato sunshine vocals with falsetto trills, Izzy’s feelgood factor is off the charts on her new track, “White Tiger”. We’ve been promised an album in early 2016, but until then you can replay her cutely named Coolbeanz EP from 2013 that won her recognition from 1Xtra as well as BBC Radio 1.

After applying herself to the arts academically at boarding school and later theatre school Izzy flirted with the possibility of finding fame in Soundgirl, a group she started with friends but it was after she jumped onto an open mic she found herself as a solo performer. Believe it or not, at the ILuvLive musical showcase, that turned out to be run by her long lost cousin, it sounds like one of those he-said, she-said stories, but it’s so unbelievably lucky, it could only be true.

Since then she’s appeared on Jools Holland’s show, sold out two of her own headline shows and played with Mark Ronson at the Amy Winehouse Foundation Event. We’re already hooked on the sugar-sweet sound of “White Tiger” after a solid day of clicking the repeat button so we interrupted Izzy’s busy tour schedule supporting Foxes to talk about her new track and what’s on the way from Izzy Bizu.
