Nick Murphy | Chet Faker (New York, NY)
Artist, Songwriter, Producer, Multi-Instrumentalist
Nick Murphy spent four years traveling the world with only a suitcase and microphone, to self-reflect and record his sophomore album Run Fast Sleep Naked in the places and spaces that inspired him most.
Also known as Chet Faker, Nick Murphy’s alter ego achieved mainstream notoriety in 2011 with a haunting cover of Blackstreet’s “No Diggity”. The Australian singer-songwriter went on to release his platinum 2014 album Built On Glass which streamed over a billion times, won seven ARIA Music Awards, and sold out shows across the globe.
The extraordinary, and seemingly overnight success of Chet Faker led to a period of personal introspection and creative evolution in New York. With the Chet Faker persona on pause, Nick Murphy introduced the world to his more experimental sound with “Fear Less”, going on to write and record two albums, an EP, and a number of singles as himself.
In 2021, Chet Faker reemerged from the shadows with the long-awaited, and well-received album “Low”. This next chapter will see Nick continue to prove to both his fans and himself that he and his alter ego always have, and will continue to coexist.
