Davy Vain, also known as Daje is an expert songwriter, music producer, and mix engineer known for his warm production and vintage analog gear.
He has released eight studio albums with the glam-rock band Vain, including the critically acclaimed 1989 debut No Respect on Island Records. His time as a frontman is just one facet of the versatility, and impact he’s capable of as a songwriter and producer, with more recent collaborations spanning work with the UK artist Rainy Milo,Timothy James, and a range labels such as Sub Pop and Man’s Ruin.
He and his team work in his studio in the San Francisco Bay Area, which features a top of the line vintage console and tape machine, as well as hi-definition digital gear. Daje prides himself on his vocal production, songwriting and storytelling, as well as a unique ability to bring the best out of the artists he works with.
