Cutcraft songwriter Michelle Guerrero AKA Michi released her debut record titled 'Dirty Talk' on Stones Throw Records. The body of work is a lush love letter to '80s and '90s R&B, Motown, and other genres with Michi's personal and modern touch.
In her own words, “Dirty Talk isn’t just about dishing out. It’s about revealing the dirt on my hands of misunderstanding life’s gifts – the opportunity to transform, grow, and release. I want this album to accompany whoever hears it in liberation of the self, in healing." The album is a self-possessed, and refined expression of how important and "magical" it feels for Michi to make art with intention.
'Dirty Talk' was preceded by four singles off the record with videos for 'If You Want Me', 'There's No Heaven', 'Snoobie', and 'Playing Pretend' as well as an EP of three remixes by the legendary hip-hop producer Knxledge who is known for his work with Kendrick Lamar, Earl Sweatshirt, Joey Badass, Quelle Chris, Prodigy, Omarion and Ghostface Killah, Action Bronson and others. The song 'Walking Away' was also featured ahead of its release in S7, E7 of the ABC/Hulu show 'The Rookie'.
Michi will be performing songs from 'Dirty Talk' at her first headlining show in Los Angeles on April 10th, at The Moroccan Lounge. Tickets are available here.
